Chapin Town Hall

Mayor's Message

Greetings,

Saturday morning I took the opportunity to head over to Clark Street to visit our Chapin Downtown Farmer's Market. It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces as well as some new faces in our community. The event offered a unique experience to interact with local farmers and artisans. I enjoyed the experience so much that I came back with my wife later in the morning for some extra strawberries.
Farmers Market

Based on vendor feedback and discussion with local merchants, we decided to alter the hours of operation for the June 2nd market. The new hours will be from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm, which will allow for food trucks and a better window of opportunity for our citizens to attend. We will continue to keep you posted on vendors, displays and information about each market.

The largest event of the year for Chapin, and one that I look forward to every year, is the Labor Day Parade and Festival. We've already begun the planning process and are forging ahead on the coordination efforts. Our committee meetings are held the first Thursday of the month from 5:00 pm -6:00 pm in Town Hall Community Room. If you are interested in joining the committee, please email communications@chapinsc.com . Additional information can be found on our website.

On a more personal note, I would like to acknowledge and thank all the mothers in our community. To all those that are mothers, have been mothers and to those that are anxiously awaiting their chance to be mothers there is no job more important than the role of mom. Mothers are the backbone of our society, the heart of our family and the soul of our community. I am grateful for the sacrifices all mothers make and for all the love you provide. This Sunday and every day after I hope you receive all the respect and honor you deserve. Wishing you a very happy Mother's Day.

Best Regards,

Mayor David Knight
