Welvista is a non-profit organization that provides access to the uninsured to prescription medications thanks to partnerships with pharmaceutical companies that donate medications to bridge the gap for treatment of chronic illnesses.

South Carolina 2-1-1 is your one-stop resource for finding assistance in your local community. We keep a database of a wide variety of service providers including support groups, community clinics, counselors, shelters, food pantries, programs for seniors, and many more agencies in South Carolina. SC Thrive is a statewide nonprofit offering solutions to South Carolinians in need of resources but facing a multitude of barriers. We provide a variety of training and technology to other direct service organizations so they can more effectively help people access these resources. We meet people where they are in life, addressing their needs holistically to move them toward stability, then self- sustainability. SC Help is a program managed by the SC State Housing Authority that provides assistance to qualified homeowners who are having a hard time paying their mortgage because of financial hardship. SC Works created a State Dislocated Worker Unit that is responsible for providing “rapid response” employment assistance to employers and employees impacted by any permanent layoff or closure action affecting 50 or more employers. “Bank On” Columbia initiative, funded by the City of Columbia, partners with financial institutions, local government and community organizations to help bring un-banked and under-banked residents back into the financial mainstream. The program also offers free financial literacy workshops. Future financial literacy workshops at the Richland Library (1431 Assembly St.): September 23rd, November 11th and January 20th from 10am until 12:45pm.
