Chapin Town Hall

Mayor's Message

Greetings from Chapin Town Hall-

By now many of you have heard the devastating news of long time Chapin business, Ellett Brothers, closing their doors. In light of this unfortunate news, the Town of Chapin and the Greater Chapin Chamber of Commerce have partnered to put together the Chapin Job Fair. The event will be held Thursday, July 25, from 12 p.m.-6 p.m. at the Chapin Town Hall Community Room.

Additional information regarding this event and community resources can be found at the Ellett Brothers Resource page on our website . Businesses interested in participating in this event should contact event organizers Nicholle Burroughs at and Rebecca Hines

There have been several other highlights over the past couple weeks, however, there is one that I feel like I should personally mention. We were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Dr. Ronald Crawford. He was one of the most prominent Chapin people, most famous for his ice cream bar at the local pharmacy. He provided many young Chapin folks an opportunity to work over the years and we are grateful for the impact he had on this great community.

Please have a safe weekend.

Warmest Regards
Mayor David Knight

Eagle Scout

Mayor Presents Certificate of Appreciation

Mayor David Knight presented a Certificate of Appreciation to recognize John Bryant Lint for reaching the highest honor bestowed by the Boy Scouts of America, Eagle Scout. The long process resulted in 31 merit badges and an Eagle Scout Court of Honor ceremony at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church.

Chapin Business Expands Operations

Earlier this month we celebrated the expansion of a wonderful Chapin business. Business owners Kara and Paul Madsen held a grand opening at their brand new facility of Sozo Family Fitness on Columbia Avenue. The Mayor was honored to present a Certificate of Appreciation to the owners in front of a packed house.

Mayor Knight Speaks at Local Rotary Club

The St. Andrews Rotary Club requested Mayor Knight to provide an update on the Town of Chapin. The Rotary Club meets every week at the Lizards Thicket in Irmo. It was a great opportunity to answer questions and provide an update on current activities.

Springhill Construction and NAI Columbia Host Chamber of Commerce Monthly Meeting

The Greater Chapin Chamber of Commerce held their monthly meeting at Town Hall. The meeting sponsors, Springhill Construction and NAI Columbia, hosted a phenomenal meeting. The food, catered by Kelly's Cuisine, was fantastic and so were all the extra details. It was a great opportunity to learn more about the construction process and to provide input regarding the Chapin Crossing shopping center.

July 4

All Town Hall Offices will be closed in observance of the fourth of July holiday on Thursday, July 4. All offices will reopen on Friday, July 5.
