Having grown up in Chapin my entire life, I know just how special this community truly is. Chapin is no longer just a spot on the map, it has become THE spot on the map. We are proud of our past, grateful for our present, and excited about the future we continue to build together.

Located along the shores of Lake Murray, Chapin is a vibrant and growing town where neighbors still look out for one another. At the Chapin Police Department, our mission is to safeguard this community by blending modern policing technology and strategies with the personal touch of a neighborhood officer. To achieve this, we hire and train dedicated professionals, equipping them with the tools and knowledge to serve with excellence.

Our department is here to support Chapin’s neighborhoods and businesses in every way possible. If you are part of a neighborhood group or own a local business and would like one of our officers to attend your meetings or training events, please let us know. Our officers are experienced in providing information on public safety, home and business security, fraud and scam awareness, critical incident response, and overall crime prevention.

We also offer complimentary property checks for residents and business owners who are away or need increased patrols. We also provide assistance with vehicle lockouts, changing tires, and other situations where an extra hand can make a difference.
