Homeward Bound is an all-volunteer, nonprofit animal rescue in the Columbia/Irmo area. Their goal is to make a difference in our community by rescuing stray, homeless and abandoned animals primarily dogs, from high-kill shelters and from owners who can no longer provide for them. Homeward Bound recently broke ground on an emergency overflow kennel, which makes this a great time to make a difference. Please join us at Athlete’s Arena on Saturday, December 2 for Squat for Spot. This event will feature workouts & scaling options are available. The fee is $25 and all proceeds will go directly to Homeward Bound and are tax deductible. If you cannot participate in the workouts, please consider contributing. Thank You! Athlete's Arena

Access to green space, a welcoming gateway to our community, signage to enhance the vibrancy of our town and an accessible safe, walkable town center are some of the desires we are trying to address. Funding has become a major obstacle in addressing these issues. One of the potential funding vehicles identified to create viable solutions has been a hospitality tax. We invite the public to attend our drop in public information session regarding a hospitality tax. There will be representatives to answer questions, an interactive opportunity to provide feedback and information on impacts to our community.
